Catching Light

Description
My photo, "Catching Light," was taken in Joshua Tree National Park. On this particular evening, I found myself scrambling for a composition as the beautiful light quickly faded. Just as the last moments of daylight were slipping away, I walked over a hill and discovered this scene: the perfectly shaped Joshua Tree in the distance, with the almost mirrored shape of a Cholla cactus in the foreground, catching the fading light. I quickly set up my camera on a tripod and snapped a few images, which I later focus-stacked to create the final composition before the light was completely gone.
