American Elm Up Close

My Photo "American Elm Up Close", was taken in the famous Central Park Elm Grove in the fall of 2020. I wanted to capture the near peak color of the trees that day, by zooming in enough to remove any sky and ground. I also wanted to try and capture the wonderful texture on the bark. In post, I added an Orton Effect to give the image a more painterly feel. 10% of the profits from each print sold from my "The Natural World" series will be donated to the Sierra Club. The Sierra Club is America's oldest and one of the world's first large-scale environmental preservation organization, founded by John Muir in 1892.
