My photo, "Wavelets," was shot on Kodak Portra 800 film. It captures three old, rotting pilings that once supported a dock on Manhattan's west side. What drew me to this scene was the beautiful reflection of the setting sun’s colors on the water and the delicate ripples radiating from each piling—a quiet response to the relentless push of the currents against the weathered wood.
